ABOUT

Hola,

   My name is Diego Perezchica.  I have been a teacher for 12 years and enjoy my job very much.  I have taught General, Bilingual, and Spanish Immersion now.  I continued my education and pursued and completed my M.ED  degree for Principal.   

   I am proud to be the teacher at Riojas Elementary for the Spanish Immersion classroom.  This will be my sixth year at Riojas as a teacher and 5 years as a team leader for the Spanish Immersion program. 

   Our program consists of a based percentage K-5th Spanish taught program that focuses on teacher based curriculum and TEXAS TEKS.  Children under this program will learn all academics subject content presented by the teachers and our district.

   In my classroom you will see lots of hands on and engaging activities for students to have different opportunities to learn and be successful.

   You will see small group learning in order to work as a team and help each other.

   You will see general classroom teaching from the teacher to introduce learning.

   You will see one-on-one teacher/ student teaching.

   You will see teacher and district assessments to check for mastery.

   Student expectations understood from students, parents, and teachers. ( Along with clear positive rewards and or consequences).

I hope the students will learn by being engaged and having fun.

Educational Hands on Learning

   One of the best way to learn is by having engaging activities that students can relate and have fun with.  At the same time, students are held accoutable for completed work and mastery of subject area.

Small Group Engagement Learning
Opportunity to Review, refresh and focus.

   Students will work cooporately in small group centers.  

   Students will work together and practide weekly curriculum based subjects and academic skill in different areas and different forms.  

   Not only do students have many ways to learn, practice and master skill in a whole group or small group practice, but information learned or needed for review will be at their disposal around the classroom setting.
